About Me
Yasmina is a fourth-year Sports Media student at Toronto Metropolitan University, with a strong foundation in cultural diversity and an impressive array of academic and professional experiences. As an international student with dual Lebanese-Canadian nationality, Yasmina speaks three languages fluently and has lived in culturally rich environments like Oman and Saudi Arabia.

At TMU, Yasmina has undertaken specialized courses such as On-Air Sport Presentation, Digital Media Production, and Sports Journalism. She looks forward to expanding her expertise through upcoming courses in Marketing and Promotion, Legal & Business Aspects of Sport, and Editing Specialty. Her hands-on experience includes an internship with MBC Group in Dubai, where she collaborated with producers, directors, and creative teams across departments like CR, BCS, and Graphics. She also gained proficiency in advanced television production tools such as iNews and Viz Mosart.

Yasmina has worked in various roles, including Marketing Director at Khawli Real Estate Development, Writer/Journalist for SpiritLive Radio, and Camera Operator for TMU Bold Broadcast. Additionally, her internships with Zeenah and the National Bank of Oman strengthened her skills in advertising and marketing.

Mental health was not a widely discussed topic in Yasmina’s upbringing, but over time, she has recognized its critical importance, especially in fast-paced environments. Through Behind the Medal, Yasmina and her team focus on raising awareness about mental health in athletes, advocating for open conversations and prioritizing mental well-being in the sports world and beyond.
